Our approach
Our goal is to provide holistic, thorough care that combines various disciplines such as allopathic medicine, lifestyle medicine, longevity medicine and others into a model that utilizes prevention, treatment and deep investigation to improve health.
At the basis of our approach is the comprehensive exam. At this time we aim to evaluate any current medical issues, medications or challenges that our patients are facing, and how we can help them work through those. We aim to take an inventory of not just what is wrong, but the underlying factors causing those issues.
During our initial visit we will also go over screenings recommended by the United States Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) and make sure you are up to date with these.
As we progress up the pyramid these services are more typically covered in the longevity medicine package, and include evaluation of the six tenets of lifestyle medicine, including diet, sleep, exercise, avoidance of toxins and stressors and positive relationships.
We will determine the current status of these points, and then set benchmarks and goals on how to improve and optimize these for long term success.
In further discussions, we will cover topics such as supplementation, including the most common over the counter supplements, their purported benefits and data-driven insights to their efficacy. We can also answer any questions about natural alternatives to commonly prescribed medications.
At this point we will also begin to evaluate you for advanced, non-USPSTF recommended screenings based on individual and family risk factors and concerns.
Lastly, we look to cover advanced supplementation, or supplements with less robust scientific backing, as well as lifestyle medicine with increased depth, breadth and focus on individual topics.
Of course, at Botejue Health we aim to meet you where you are, so each patient approach will be different, and may vary from a specific goal to more free-flowing or varied approaches.
